Start & Finish Location

The reception area for the Utrecht Science Park Night Run – powered by Runnersworld Utrecht is at the Accelerator: Uppsalalaan 17, Utrecht.

The start and finish of the Utrecht Science Park Night Run – powered by Runnersworld Utrecht – will take place on Uppsalalaan, a short distance from the Accelerator.

Are you coming from Utrecht or the surrounding area? We recommend coming to the start by bike, on foot, or by public transport.

How to get there by car
If you’re coming by car, parking is available at P+R Utrecht Science Park, Universiteitsweg, Utrecht. The parking fee is €7.50 per evening.

Parking garage P10 Uppsalalaan is closed. From P7, you can still exit but not enter.

How to get there by public transport
From Utrecht Central Station, take tram 20, 21, or 22 to Science Park P+R and get off there. From the tram stop, it’s a 4 minute walk to the Accelerator. For more information about traveling by public transport, visit www.9292.nl.

How do I get there by bike?
From Utrecht Central Station, it’s about a 20-minute bike ride. If you’re coming by bike from Weg tot de Wetenschap or Archimedeslaan, please follow the instructions of the traffic controllers to reach the Accelerator. Use the bike path along Heidelberglaan and Universiteitsweg. The bike paths along Leuvenlaan, Budapestlaan, Harvardlaan, and Hoofddijk are closed.

Starting area for fast runners

To ensure everyone can run comfortably at their own pace and to avoid congestion, we ask all runners who run faster than 4:30 min/km to line up in the front starting area.

Relay

The relay exchange zone is located 30 meters after the finish line. This is where you hand over the baton to your teammate. The exchange zone is clearly marked with a sign reading “Estafette wissel zone”, but it’s a good idea to check it out beforehand so you know exactly where to go.

You can pick up your baton at the information desk in the Accelerator. There, you can also collect your race bib number and any additional items you may have ordered.

Finish

Just like the start, is on Uppsalalaan. After the finish, you can keep the fun going until 11:00 PM at the afterparty in the Accelerator.

Tickets

You’ve received your e-ticket by email, this is a QR code.
If you can’t find the email, you can also access your QR code in your personal Atleta dashboard.
Click HERE to open your dashboard.
Make sure you have your ticket on your phone or printed out, so you can show it at the start.
After scanning your ticket, you’ll receive your race bib number(s) for participation and any additional items you may have ordered.

Race Bib Pick-Up

You can pick up your race bib number at the following times:
  • Tuesday, November 4 at Runnersworld Utrecht from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
  • Friday, November 7 at the Accelerator from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Friday, November 7 at the Accelerator during the event from 5:00 PM to the start of your run.

Course

The course is 5 km long, which means participants in the 10 km and 15 km events will run this loop multiple times. This setup allows us to fill the entire route with entertainment and atmosphere.

Photography / Videography

Throughout the evening, photos and videos will be taken by the organization’s photographers and videographer. These action photos and videos may be used after the run on Facebook pages, websites, and in event mailingsorganized by Central Events.

Bicycle Parking

A bicycle parking area is set up between the Genmab office building and the Accelerator. Please note that this area is not supervised.
We kindly ask you not to use the bicycle parking at Sportcentrum Olympos.

Medical Assistance

If you require urgent medical assistance during the event, please call 112.
If you need non-urgent medical help, call 030-8774491 a first aid responder (EHBO) will come to your location.

Supporters / Visitors

If you bring supporters, they are warmly welcome along the course and inside the Accelerator (also after the event).
Please note: supporters do not have access to the Botanical Gardens during the run.

Program

5:00 PM – Venue opens
7:00 PM – Kids Run 1.5 km
7:30 PM – Night Run 5 km
8:20 PM – Night Run 15 km, Relay 15 km, Night Run 10 km, Relay 10 km
8:00–11:00 PM – Afterparty
11:00 PM – Venue closes

Timing and Results

During the USP Night Run, your running time is automatically recorded. The chip for this is embedded in your race bib.
After the finish, you can view your results on the USP Night Run homepage: uspnightrun.nl.

Award Ceremony

For each distance (Kids Run, 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km), prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age/gender category.
The award ceremony will take place inside the Accelerator at the following times:
  • 7:30 PM: Kids Run
  • 8:15 PM: 5 km
  • 9:30 PM: 10 km
  • 9:45 PM: 15 km

Drink Tokens / Catering

After your run, you can relax and enjoy a drink during the afterparty. Drinks are paid for easily using drink tokens.

You can pre-purchase tokens through your dashboard, so you’re all set to enjoy the atmosphere, music, and fun! Tokens are also available on-site.

Please note: tokens cannot be exchanged for cash after the event.

Pasta Meal

Want to be well-prepared for the start? Add a delicious pasta meal to your order! The meal will be served on November 7 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Accelerator.

You can add the pasta meal to your order via your dashboard until Monday, November 3, 11:59 PM.

Running Light

Add a convenient running light to your order to run safely and in style during the USP Night Run. You’ll receive your light when you pick up your race bib.
You can easily add the running light to your order via your dashboard.
The lights will also be available for purchase during the event.

Baggage Service

During the entire event, you can use our baggage service, which is continuously supervised, so you don’t have to worry about your belongings. The service is completely free!
When you drop off your bag, you’ll receive a sticker with the same number as the sticker on your bag.

Please note: this number does not correspond to your race bib number.

Important: This service is only for bags. If you have a coat, it must be placed inside your bag. Loose coats cannot be left separately.

Changing Rooms

On the venue grounds, there are separate changing rooms for men and women.
Please note: there are no showers available.

Water Station

During the 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km runs, there will be a water station along the route at the Botanical Gardens. Both water and sports drinks will be available for the 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km distances.

At the finish, every participant, regardless of distance, will receive a medal and a cup of water to refresh themselves.

Please make sure to dispose of cups and waste in the designated trash zone, located just after the water station.

Toilets

There are toilets inside the Accelerator. In addition, there are urinals and portable toilets (dixies) available near the start area.
